Ambon & Triton Bay: Kaimana-Ambon, Ambon-Kaimana

  • DAY 1: Two muck dives (check dive and night dive) around the jetties at the Twilight Zone, with a vast array of critters and oddities to be found. Overnight sail to Nusa Laut.
  • DAY 2: Two dives at the famous site Ameth’s Knoll, a reef parallel to the coast that the local villagers have protected since the old times, to allow fish to spawn and spill over to adjacent areas. Afternoon and night dives at the next village to the south. Overnight to the Banda Islands.
  • DAY 3: Dive Pulau Soangi and wall dives around Pulau Ai. Dusk dive at the mandarinfish site. Night in Bandaneira, the most beautiful natural anchorage of Indonesia.
  • DAY 4: Cultural visit around Bandaneira, the heart of the Spice Islands: Fort Rotterdam, the Governors House and the nutmeg plantation. After breakfast dive Batu Kapal and afternoon dive in the Lava Flows, a stunning hard coral garden that grew at an astounding speed after Gunung Api’s last eruption in 1988. Overnight to Koon.
  • DAY 5: Three day dives around the very strategic eastern point of Pulau Koon, where the walls on both sides of the island converge into a sandy plateau facing a deep trench, congregating large masses of fish and the added excitement of some pelagic sightings.
  • DAY 6: Dive the reefs around the Watubela group, such as the walls of Kurkap and the small islands of Baam.
  • DAY 7: Dive around Tanjung Papisoi: 335 Species record site and others around Pulau Mommon, like Karang Pata, a big seamount full packed with fish. Visit the Tiki – Tiki waterfall, a fresh water cascade that falls straight into the sea.
  • DAYS 8 and 9: Dive around Triton Bay, in the most emblematic sites like Larry’s Heaven, Caldera and Orembai, with astounding coral growth and masses of fish, plus some muck sites on the coast. Tender boat tour around the maze of islands to see hornbills and other birds.
  • DAY 10: Dive the bagans for whalesharks and afternoon sail through Namatote strait to see ancient rock painting. Sail back to Kaimana at sunset to fly the morning after.
